The world of Genshin Impact with basic knowledge about it
Entry
Teyvat is the world of the game Genshin Impact.
Teyvat is a fantasy world with seven elements: Pyro (fire), Hydro (water), Cryo (ice), Electro (lightning), Anemo (wind), Geo (earth), and Dendro (nature).
Each element have its own according color: Pyro - red, Hydro - blue, Electro - purple, Cryo - light blue, Anemo - light green/cyan, Geo - yellow, Dendro - green.
Elemental Reactions are behaviour in which two or more elements interact. For example, the reaction between Cryo and Pyro is called Melt, the reaction between Hydro and Electro is called Electro-charged and so on. Geo is a neutral element, but it can create corresponding shield if interacts with Pyro, Hydro, Electro or Cryo. Vision wielders can use Elemental Reactions in their advantage in a fight with monsters.
Accordingly, there are seven nations in Teyvat:
Natlan - nation of Pyro and war, based on Latin America and Aztecs. It is divided into six tribes;
Fontaine - nation of Hydro and justice, based on France. It has its own opera theatre and a courtroom;
Snezhnaya - nation of Cryo, based on Russia;
Inazuma - nation of Electro and eternity, based on Japan. The nations is located on islands in the ocean, separated from the main continent;
Mondstadt - nation of Anemo and freedom, based on Germany;
Liyue - nation of Geo and contracts, based on China. It is the main trading nation in Teyvat, having many ports connected to the ocean;
Sumeru - nation of Dendro and wisdom, based on India and Arabic countries. It has rainforests and deserts at the same time. It also has the best academy in Teyvat.
Each nation is controlled by an Archon of its element and has its own culture, architecture and terrain features.
Archons are the Gods of Teyvat. They control their element with enormous power with the help of Gnosis - artifact within every Archon, one could say it’s “the heart of an Archon”.
Archons and their names: Pyro - Mavuika; Hydro - Furina; Cryo - Tsaritsa; Electro - Raiden Ei; Anemo - Barbatos; Geo - Morax; Dendro - Nahida
Vision is an artefact which grants its user with elemental power. Vision user can only have one Vision and thus can control only one element. Vision is given in very rare occasions to a person by the Gods when a person has a great will or is in a situation where their or someone else’s life is in danger. The only exception is Traveler, who came to Teyvat from another world and doesn’t have Vision, but still being able to control any element. Vision wielders cannot control already existing, natural elemental energy, they can only control elemental energy that they themselves create. Only Archons are able to control natural elemental energy.
The Fatui are a delegation of diplomats from Snezhnaya. It has a military detachment led by the Eleven Fatui Harbingers and the Cryo Archon herself. They are one of the main antagonistic factions in Teyvat. Their goal is to collect every Gnosis from every Archon, though it’s unknown for what purpose. The Eleven Fatui Harbingers are numbered according to their power, No. 1 being the strongest.
Celestia is a mysterious location that very few people understand. It is the floating island that can be seen in the sky above Teyvat, and is the residence of the gods. It is said that only mortals who perform great, heroic feats can ascend to Celestia and achieve godhood, where they will watch over their people from above.
There are many types of monsters and enemies in Teyvat:
Hilichurls - goblin-like monsters, mostly appear in tribes. Have black skin and big bone masks that cover their faces.
Slimes - a pudgy elemental life form that can be found all around Teyvat. Immune to a specific element that is also applied to them at all times. For example, Hydro slime has Hydro constantly applied to it and is immune to this element. Some slimes can have different special abilities like Pyro slime exploding on death, Dendro slime burrowing under the ground or Geo slime having a rock shield.
Whopperflowers - dangerous plants that can be found all over Teyvat. They often disguise themselves as sweet flowers or mints in the wild, ambushing their prey if they try to pick up the fake plant. There are three types of whopperflowers: Pyro, Cryo and Electro. Each type has according element.
Ruin Guards - very strong, big and durable mechanical enemy. It has a weak spot on his head which is its core. If you hit its core, it will stun the Ruin Guard for some time. It has various attacks: launching exploding missiles, jumping up and creating a shockwave upon landing, spinning around and swinging its heavy arms at you.
Mora is the main currency in Teyvat. It is named after its creator, Geo Archon Morax. 1 US dollar is roughly equal to 240 Mora.
