World of Teyvat
Entry
The Lore of Teyvat: Teyvat is a mystical world where the interplay of elemental forces shapes the environment and the lives of its inhabitants. It is a land of seven nations, each governed by an Archon who represents one of the seven elements: Anemo (Wind), Geo (Earth), Electro (Lightning), Dendro (Nature), Hydro (Water), Pyro (Fire), and Cryo (Ice). These Archons are divine beings who grant Visions, which are magical gemstones that allow their bearers to wield elemental powers.
The Seven Nations:
Mondstadt (Anemo): Known as the City of Freedom, Mondstadt is protected by the Anemo Archon, Barbatos, who takes the form of the carefree bard, Venti. Mondstadt values liberty and is characterized by its wind-swept landscapes, towering spires, and the worship of the wind.
Liyue (Geo): Liyue Harbor, the City of Contracts, is overseen by the Geo Archon, Morax, who is also known as Rex Lapis and takes the mortal guise of Zhongli. Liyue is a bustling center of commerce and tradition, with vast mountain ranges and rich natural resources.
Inazuma (Electro): Ruled by the Electro Archon, Raiden Shogun (Ei), Inazuma is a nation shrouded in thunderstorms and is currently enforcing the Vision Hunt Decree, seizing Visions from its people. It is a land striving for eternity, marked by its isolationist policies and traditional culture.
Sumeru (Dendro): The land of wisdom, governed by the Dendro Archon, is known for its vast rainforests and scholarly pursuits. Sumeru is home to the Sumeru Academia, a center of knowledge and research on the elements and the mysteries of the world.
Fontaine (Hydro): Fontaine is the nation of justice, overseen by the Hydro Archon. It is characterized by its elegant waterways, grand architecture, and a deep-seated respect for the rule of law and judicial processes.
Natlan (Pyro): Governed by the Pyro Archon, Natlan is a land of passion and fervor. Its people are known for their fiery spirits and warrior culture, living in a region dominated by volcanoes and scorched earth.
Snezhnaya (Cryo): The land of the Cryo Archon, known as the Tsaritsa, Snezhnaya is a cold, harsh nation. It is home to the Fatui, an organization that exerts significant influence across Teyvat through diplomacy and force.
The Archons and Celestia: The Archons are the gods who once ruled directly over their respective nations but now often operate behind the scenes. Each Archon wields a Gnosis, a divine artifact that connects them to Celestia, the heavenly realm. Celestia is the abode of higher gods and the source of divine authority in Teyvat, often influencing the fate of the world and its inhabitants.
Visions and the Elements: Visions are bestowed upon individuals deemed worthy by the gods. These mystical gems enable their holders to channel elemental powers:
Anemo (Wind): Associated with freedom and movement.
Geo (Earth): Represents strength and solidity.
Electro (Lightning): Symbolizes transience and energy.
Dendro (Nature): Tied to growth and life.
Hydro (Water): Connected to fluidity and change.
Pyro (Fire): Embodies passion and destruction.
Cryo (Ice): Reflects resilience and preservation.
The Abyss Order: A dark force opposed to the Archons and their rule, the Abyss Order seeks to overturn the established order of Teyvat. They are led by the enigmatic Prince/Princess of the Abyss and command legions of twisted beings.
The Traveler and the Unknown God: You, the Traveler, are an interdimensional explorer who arrived in Teyvat with your twin sibling. Separated by an unknown god, your journey is driven by the quest to reunite with your sibling and uncover the secrets of Teyvat. The unknown god who separated you is a powerful entity whose motives and origins are shrouded in mystery.
History and Legends: Teyvat’s history is rich with tales of war, gods, and heroes. The Archon War, which took place thousands of years ago, saw the gods vying for dominance, resulting in the current order. The land is dotted with ancient ruins, relics of lost civilizations, and the remnants of these divine conflicts.
Cultural Richness: Each nation in Teyvat boasts a unique culture, architecture, and way of life influenced by its element and Archon. From the festive Windblume Festival in Mondstadt to the solemn Rite of Descension in Liyue, the customs and traditions of Teyvat’s people are deeply intertwined with their elemental heritage.
Economy and Trade: Trade routes crisscross Teyvat, with Liyue Harbor being a central hub of commerce. Various goods, from Mondstadt’s wines to Inazuma’s artisanal crafts, flow through these routes, facilitating cultural exchange and economic growth.
Challenges and Adventures: Teyvat is a land of adventure, filled with puzzles, dungeons, and formidable creatures. Adventurers and treasure hunters seek out these challenges, driven by the promise of rewards and the thrill of discovery.
Yae Miko, also known as Guuji Yae, holds a significant role in the world of Teyvat. She is the chief priestess of the Grand Narukami Shrine in Inazuma, a revered position that places her at the spiritual heart of the nation. In addition to her religious duties, Yae Miko is the editor-in-chief of the Yae Publishing House, showcasing her influence in both spiritual and literary circles.
