Entry
City Kivotos: Kivotos is home to thousands of academies, with the most notable being the Nine Schools and SCHALE. Students openly carry guns and cellphones daily, and the city features advanced technology like robots, exosuits, and gigantic mecha.
Kivotos is a federation, with the GSC as the federal government. The General Student Council used to act as a governing board to manage the academies before their president’s disappearance. After that, the city became an anarchist society.
The population consists of various animals, robots, and mostly female humanoid students with mythological and animalistic traits such as horns, tails, ears, and wings. These girls have unique halos representing their abilities and personalities and are the main focus of the story.
Despite the abundance of academies, teachers are rare. Education is mostly conducted via Blu-Ray discs, with in-person teaching by guest lecturers and assistant faculty or even older students themselves. Emphasis is placed on clubs and school organizations where students can express their individuality.
Kivotos is also rife with malicious elements, including delinquents, criminal organizations, and illegal activities. There is a district for the Black Market, and gun violence is common.
Despite this, confrontations have a low death rate because many humanoid haloed citizens have incredible durability, with moderate bulletproof protection. Even kindergarteners play with live grenades as prank toys. Jacketed hollow-point bullets cause only some pain, and it takes sustained gunfire or artillery strikes to knock citizens unconscious. The quickest way to kill them is to destroy their halos.
General Student Council: Responsible for the administration of the academies, but its president has mysteriously disappeared, causing governance issues.
Federal Investigation Club (SCHALE): A secretive, autonomous club established by the missing student council president. It holds higher authority than any single academy.
“Sensei” is entrusted to guide the students of SCHALE, resolving various incidents across Kivotos
The main location of this is club is The SCHALE tower, located on the outskirts of the District of Utnapishtim (D.U.), around 30km away from the Sanctum Tower. It is divided into two main areas: A Residence Hall and an Office area. Both are huge, with various facilities such as kitchens, a lounge, a theater and more, and both having rooms equipped for Sensei to teach any students that visit. The convenience store Angel 24 is located in the Residence Hall.
Sensei: A teacher and haloless outsider called by the President of the General Student Council to save Kivotos from the initial criminal uprising. They were given full authoirty over SCHALE and is an advisor to it. Despite being a teacher which is rare in Kivotos in the first place, they act more as peacemaker and conflict solvers as well as guiding students.
The Sanctum Tower: The Sanctum Tower is a massive structure located at the center of Kivotos. Everything about the tower is shrouded in mystery. Even the information about the construction of the tower is unknown, as well as its origin and purpose. However, It has been speculated that the General Student Council may have the information, and the facts about the tower. The authority of Kivotos is granted to whoever has the administrative power of the tower. The Shittim Chest is capable of restoring access permissions to the tower.
Prior to her disappearance, the General Student Council’s president nearly single-handedly held control over the entire city through the Sanctum Tower. After she vanished, the General Student Council lost all control over the tower and, consequently, their authority over Kivotos. However, through the use of the Shittim Chest, the Sanctum Tower’s permissions were granted to the tablet’s AI, who delegated the authority to the GSC at the request of Sensei.
Academies: Each school district has its own student council and police/militia force, handling internal governance and conflicts. The main schools also act as their own States within the city, having their own rules, and economy and maintained mostly independently. While each School district uses their Militia to maintain order, the Valkyrie Police School acts as the main law enforcement for shared zones outside individual school districts.
The Main academies Are and its students are:
Abydos High School: Abydos High School is currently in debt. The school and its surroundings have been affected and have been deteriorating from desertification and sandstorms, losing its former prestige despite being one of the biggest Schools in the past. Most students had either left the school or had transferred to another school with the exception of five students, who are trying their best to repay the school’s debt (which was caused by borrowing loans from Kaiser Loans) and restore the school to its former glory. The district resides near a desert and has references to Egyptian mythos.
Foreclosure Task Force (Acting Student Council): It is the de facto school council of Abydos High School that was formed with the goal of persevering the school as well as the areas around Abydos itself. Due to the decline of the school it is also the only club with mere five members (Which are Hoshino, Nonomi, Serika, Ayane and Shiroko) .
Takanashi Hoshino: She’s currently the vice president of the Abydos Student Council, the president of the Foreclosure Task Force, and the only 3rd year. Speaking like an old man, she enjoys playing around and napping more than work. While she’s a sleepyhead who finds fighting to be a pain, she’s actually the strongest student in Abydos.
Izayoi Nonomi: The emotional and gentle personality of Abydos, and plays a role as a mental support bringing together the members of the Task Force, which has many extreme personalities. Though she doesn’t say it herself, she is the daughter of a very rich family. In fact, she pays for almost all of the Task Force’s snacks from her own allowance. Overall seemingly airheaded, careless with money and bubbly to others. Despite being rich enough to pay the debt, her proposal was turned down by the her fellow clubmates.
Kuromi Serika: The grouchy secretary of the Foreclosure Task Force. One with many complaints, Serika is the type that is hesitant to show her emotions. Despite her daily habit of saying “It’s fine if this school goes bankrupt”, she has a deep love for her school and works tirelessly behind the backs of her clubmates to pay off her school’s debt which makes her Jerk with a Heart of Gold/tsundere who can be abrasive towards outsiders and sometimes even her friends. Is also super gullible which is not helped at all by her desperation to pay off the school’s debt, she always falls for obvious scams. Also an overall Workaholic.
Okusora Ayane: She is the diligent treasurer of the Foreclosure Task Force of Abydos High School. The type of girl to put much value on rules and principles, she does her earnest best for the revival of the school. She communicates from base and gives out data for her fellow Task Force members on the field, including sending out drones. She is perhaps the most “normal” and level headed member of the team.
Sunaookami Shiroko: Enrolled in Abydos High School, Shiroko is the sports-loving field captain of the Foreclosure Task Force. Generally a girl of few words and few emotions, she gives off an aloof aura but holds the interest of Abydos above all else. In order to revitalize the school, she is willing to do anything, and occasionally comes up with ridiculous plans. She’s the least visibly emotional of the club. Well, unless she gets really invested into something. Besides being a sports jock she also enjoys planning bank robberies and is a bit Unflappable overall.
Gehenna Academy: It is one of the largest and oldest schools in Kivotos. A school that runs along the concept of “Freedom and Chaos.” In contrast to its long rival, Trinity, this school is arguably the most chaotic out of all the schools. Has a German military aesthetic, its Student Council is the “Pandemonium Society” though has a bit of a power struggle with the “Prefect Team” who act as the school’s core governing body.
Clubs of Gehenna:
Prefect Team (Militia Force): Sometimes also known as the Disciplinary Committee, and like the name suggests, they are responsible for keeping order within the oftentimes chaotic Gehenna Academy. Their members wage a never-ending battle in keeping the unruly students from causing trouble within or outside the school. A sharp contrast to the school’s ideology, they also arguably rival in power and influence with the School’s student council “Pandemonium Society”. (Notable members of the Prefect team are Hina, Ako, Iori and Chinatsu)
Sorasaki Hina: She is a 3rd year student and the current chairwoman of Gehenna’s Prefect Team, who is rightfully feared by every student in the academy, if not all of Kivotos. Although shown to seem rather cold and distant on the outside, Hina is shown to be a very relaxed and soft person when she’s allowed to express herself, despite her title as of the head of the Prefect Team.
Amau Ako: An administrative officer of the Disciplinary Committee, belonging to Gehenna Academy! As a capable assistant, she’s always by Hina’s side, working until midnight or all night, as if to say she’s loyal to her beloved Chairwoman Hina. Ako appears to be a professional and diplomatic woman. Behind the scenes, she is thorough and strict with herself and others. This makes her an excellent manager for the Prefect Team when Hina is unavailable, but can also make her paranoid and act out of line when under stress.
Shiromi Iori: A 2nd year student and a cold-blooded specialist of the feared Prefect Team. As the field captain of its assault corps, she immediately punishes students who violate the rules with overwhelming force whenever and wherever she finds them. While she may be efficient and formidable in combat, she is also reckless and stubborn, and is prone to losing sight of her surroundings once she spots an enemy, which makes it easy for her to fall for even obvious traps.
Hinomiya Chinatsu: Enrolled at Gehenna Academy, Chinatsu is a 1st year student in charge of medical aid for the Prefect Team. Committed to observing the rules and the proper procedures, she’s one of the few sensible people on the Team, and is usually the one keeping the more unruly members like Ako and Iori from running amok. She gives off the aura of someone aloof and scary, but is actually very gentle and loves animals.
Problem Solver 68: A club notable for the conduct of “illegal businesses” as well as taking “fixer contracts” or simply said, mercenary work. Its members are usually on the run from the Prefect Team. Despite it’s chaotic management and lack of funds the club manages to appear professional to some. (The members of Problem Solver 68 are Aru, Mutsuki, Kayoko and Haruka)
Rikuhachima Aru: The self-proclaimed “Boss” (i.e. president) of Club Problem Solver 68, Aru is a 2nd year student at Gehenna Academy. She conducts her illegal business however she pleases. While Aru always puts on a cool, beauteous, and villainous facade, she has a habit of breaking character often and exposing her true personality when teased or pressured. Despite the vain and conceited persona she wears, Aru is meticulous and caring for the people she is close to.
Asagi Mutsuki: A 2nd year student at Gehenna Academy, Mutsuki holds the title of “Chief of staff” and is the assault activist and go-getter of Problem Solver 68. Contrary to her guilt-riddled childhood friend Aru, she is a devilish troublemaker and commits acts of wanton wrongdoing without hesitation. No one can read Aru better than Mutsuki, so she understands her friend’s bluff better than anyone else, even if she doesn’t give any particular thought to the matter. Has a thing for games, pranks and explosives.
Onikata Kayoko: The “Section chief” of Problem Solver 68 and a 3rd year student at Gehenna Academy. Unlike the other fixers, Kayoko is not one with ill intentions. However, she is often misunderstood as a delinquent simply due to natural scary facial expressions and appearance. She is the voice of reason and straight man among the group, typically being the first to point out when Aru’s made a mistake and having to reign in Mutsuki before she overreacts or Haruka when she makes a scene.
Igusa Haruka: An “entry-level employee” of Problem Solver 68 and 1st year student at Gehenna Academy. Despite being shy and possessing cripplingly low self-esteem, her ideas and determination to commit any act makes her the scariest and most dangerous amongst the already erratic fixers.A overall very timid and also very violent person when provoked. Due Aru driving away bullies in the past is what ultimately led to Haruka joining Problem Solver 68.
Pandemonium Society (Student Council)
Gourmet Research Society
School Lunch Club
Hot Spring Department
Medical Emergency Club
Millennium Science School: The newest of the Three Great Academies of Kivotos, which values logic and technical skill over all else. Because of it, they stand at the forefront of scientific research and attract many students who desire to study math or science. Although Millennium lacks the long-standing traditions and history of Trinity and Gehenna, Millennium is able to compete with them in terms of influence as many of the infrastructure, equipment, and inventions seen and used all throughout Kivotos are said to have originated from Millennium.
Clubs of Millennium:
Seminar (Student Council)
Veritas
Cleaning&Clearing (Militia Force)
Super Phenomenon Task Force
Engineering Club
Athletics Training Club
Game Development Department
Trinity General School: A seemly religious school in Kivotos. Trinity advocates harmony, as well as simultaneously cultivating both the “pen” and the “sword”. It is both one of the oldest schools in Kivotos, as well as one of the biggest. The school’s dedication to order, elegance, and etiquette, places them in conflict with Gehenna’s ideologies of freedom and chaos. As such, there has always been a sense of hatred and conflict between the two academies.
Trinity is comprised by a variety of factions, with the main three being Pater, Filius, and Sanctus. The representatives of these three factions form the school’s student council, known as the Tea Party. The Tea Party runs in a triumvirate system, where each representative takes turns as the “host” of the Tea Party, effectively serving as the sole student council president during that time.
Clubs of Trinity:
Tea Party (Student Council)
Sisterhood
Justice Task Force (Militia Force)
Remedial Knights
Library Committee
After-School Sweets Club
Trinity Vigilante Crew
Make-Up Work Club
Hyakkiyako Alliance Academy: One of the schools in Kivotos, which unlike the others is simply more of a “coalition” of clubs of committees with their own respective rules and policies. Their main industry is tourism and is applied in a variety of activities, with the largest activities dubbed as “Festivals”.
Due to the structure of Hyakkiyako, there is no formal student council in Hyakkiyako, though the Yin-Yang Club is sometimes seen as its de-facto student council.
Clubs of Hyakkiyako:
Yin-Yang Club (De Facto Student Council)
Hyakkaryouran Conflict Resolution Council
Festival Operations Department
Inner Discipline Club
Ninjutsu Research Club
Street Mouryo
Nature’s Beauty Club
Red Winter Federal Academy:
A snow-covered academy with an emphasis on communal effort…when it’s not busy staging revolutions against its student council, that is. With its large territory, getting lost is pretty easy. Has a Soviet Union aesthetic.
Clubs Of Red WInter:
Red Winter Office (Student Council)
Labor Party
Knowledge Liberation Front
Spec Ops No. 227
Publishing Department
Valkyrie Police Academy:
Valkyrie Police Academy is the primary municipal law enforcement agency of Kivotos. Valkyrie’s students take on various cases from lost and found to arresting criminals. They are noted to possess advanced equipment and reasonable firepower but are also infamous for their slow reaction times in responding to armed crimes, especially the Security Bureau. They also lack important security protocols, which was especially apparent during Wakamo’s repeated prison breaks.
As many autonomous districts have their own policing forces, such as Trinity’s Justice Realization Committee and Gehenna’s Disciplinary Committee, Valkyrie mainly handles crimes and security in shared zones like the D.U. (District of Utnapishtim). Although they are able to operate in every autonomous district to an extent, but there are many restrictions in place that vary between each district that prevent them from mobilizing completely. Additionally, they are equally unable to act when dire situations happen, such as if a student from a school commits a crime in one district and then flees to another district or colludes with another school’s student council. For these reasons, SRT Special Academy was founded to handle such matters. The school serves under the General Student Council’s Defense Office.
Clubs of Valkyrie:
Public Peace Bureau
Security Bureau
Public Safety Bureau
Public Safety Traffic
Arius Branch School: Arius is a school that had broken off from Trinity General School. No one knows where their autonomous district is, except a few individuals such as Joumae Saori. The students of Arius primarily learn to fight and kill, rather than regular subjects that normal students would learn, making them a terrorist organization. Their motto is “Vanitas vanitatum, et omnia vanitas.” (Vanity of vanities and all is vanity.)
Club of Arius:
Arius Squad
Shanhaijing Secondary School: One of the schools in Kivotos, where in similar to Hyakkiyako has various traditional Asian architecture. Its student council is called the Xuanlong Office/Genryumo which is led by Kisaki, known to others as the Black Tortoise. In comparison to their rival school Hyakkiyako Alliance Academy, Shanhaijing is more of a business and commerce-focused vocational school as they prioritize profit over culture. Due to their business-focused strategy compared to Hyakkiyako’s cultural influence, the student council resembles a criminal organization similar to the Triads with their clothes having a business look to them.
Clubs of Shanhaijing:
Genryumo (Student Council)
Black Tortoise Promenade
Eastern Alchemy Society
Training Support Department “Plum Blossom Garden”
SRT Special Academy (Special Response Team): It was originally an elite school, acting as the special forces command of Kivotos, and armed with the most advanced equipment in the city. Unlike Valkyrie Police Academy, SRT was given special authority by the GSC President, allowing them to mobilize anywhere, at any time, to respond to crime. However, following the disappearance of the GSC President, the school became unmanageable, after which a movement within the GSC began to shut down the school.
Clubs of SRT:
RABBIT Platoon
FOX Platoon
Highlander Railroad Academy: Its an academy which focuses on operating railroad and trains in Kivotos. It can be said that most of the train services in Kivotos is under their control.
Unlike territorial-based schools which set their own governance on the certain district they are located, Highlander, being a service-focused school practiced their jurisdictions in trains and railroads they do own, which sprawls through various districts.
Clubs of Highlander:
Highlander Supervision Office
Central Control Center
Other Forces:
Kaiser Corporation: A seemingly megacorporation within Kivotos, where they seem to have a large influence. Unbeknownst to their residents, their leader is building up power to take over Kivotos.
They also have several subbranches of various businesses, such as Kaiser PMC, Kaiser Industries, or Kaiser Loan as well as Kaiser Construction and Kaiser Convenience. They mostly try to buy off other business or put others into debt, they also the ones who caused the debt of Abydos so they can legally own the territory and expand their political power in Kivotos and create their own School.
Gematria: Is a shady organization of adults that originate from beyond Kivotos. None of them particularly work together and each go about achieving their goals through their own means but they mostly wanna research Kivotos in twisted ways and change the status quo of Kivotos to make Adults be the ones to rule above the Haloed Student instead how it is currently. Currently some research the concept of the Gods and possible incarnations/mystic of these.
Black Market: A Market for all limited and illegal needs, despite it being reffered as a market it could be almost called a district or Town on its own due its sheer size and existence of Guards that operate here. Many students sneak in the market to acquire illegal weapons or tools but some just get there to get access to rare items like unsold merch.
Misc.:
Kivotos takes place in the near future and is an advanced city technology and medical while being the size of a country.
Most students are female and the big academies are girls only.
The currency is Yen ¥.
MomoTalk is the main communication app in the City.
Students usually always have their phones and firearms with them, it’s seen as odd when students don’t.
Every student has a Halo, and these Halos grant greater durability and power, if these Halos were to be broken the student usually dies though this happens rarely.
Eden Treaty: The Treaty of Eden is a non-aggression pact between Trinity and Gehenna. It is named after the paradise named in the scriptures of antiquity.
The treaty will be the first treaty signed by Trinity in 170 years, with the last being during the New Council of Nicaea. The treaty was first devised by the General Student Council president, but fell apart after her disappearance. In the simplest terms, the Treaty of Eden is a peace treaty between Trinity and Gehenna. The main purpose of the treaty is to form a neutral organization known as the Eden Treaty Organization, which in turn will alleviate the never-ending hostilities between the two schools and reduce their burden.
