Entry
The Island is an island situated off the coast of Kahka Brud. It is the location of a compound-style dungeon
Located on the island are the Governor’s Mansion, the Main Street and Merini Village. The Main Street has a public dining hall with cheap food, but the Laughing Wolf has bigger portions. There is also at least one other tavern on the island.
The dungeon is located near Merini Village. Near the dungeon, there is a local resurrection center situated underneath a temple.
In the past, the island belonged to elves, dwarves and tall-men, who all called it by various names, but it is now known simply as ‘The Island’. At one point there was a war between the elves and dwarves (and gnomes) that split the island into east and west, with the dwarves using their tunnels underground to hide. After the war, the dwarves continued digging their tunnels and eventually discovered the dungeon. It was discovered in 507.
The dungeon on the island was said to have been created by a Lunatic Magician, having sealed away a once splendid country fit with a golden castle. Elven glyphs are written on the walls of the dungeon, all in the same handwriting, indicating that the Lunatic Magician is likely an elf. The dungeon’s ecosystem apparently is able to take into account the defeat of monsters by adventurers, as without them, the monsters would be able spill out onto the surface. Due to the mysterious ability to resurrect the dead inside the dungeon, it is theorized that there is a spell of immortality cast on the dungeon that can affix the soul to the body, and knowledge of how it works is highly prized.
The area above the dungeon was once an olive producing region.
As of the present, there is no longer any treasure on the top three floors, coupled with an increase in lowlifes and the appearance of orcs on higher floors than previously seen.
Dungeons were originally created by ancient people in the process of accessing an alternate dimension for infinite energy to prevent the creatures from that dimension from reaching the surface world. Nowadays, they are mostly ancient ruins, though some are naturally occurring. Mages can study dungeon-making at school, though the subject is apparently quite difficult.
Dungeons always have a connection to the outside world else the flow of magical energy will be cut off. Magical energy is sparse at the entrance of a dungeon. Spells appear to be stronger than normal when cast in a dungeon.
Stages of Maturity
Level 1: the dungeon is discovered.
Level 2: something valuable is found, resulting in an increase in the number of researchers and adventurers in the area, bringing trade and prosperity to nearby towns.
Level 3: the dungeon is explored to deeper levels and the profit made on upper levels decreases, with skilled adventurers heading deeper to make a living and a decrease in the number of new adventurers.
Level 4: the inner layout of the dungeon changes, with stronger monsters appearing and valuable items once again being found on upper levels. This is the point at which the Canaries wish to stop the growth of the dungeon.
Level 5: the monsters become too numerous to destroy and spill out onto the surface, causing mass destruction
Floor 1: The uppermost floor of the dungeon. Once the graveyard of the nearby Merini Village, the discovery of the dungeon resulted in it filling with merchants and adventurers.[14] There are sellers of manuscripts and incense, as well as an abundance of food stalls. There is also a demi-human slave market.
Monsters known to inhabit this floor include: Walking Mushrooms, Huge Scorpions, Slimes
Floor 2: The floor is filled with tall trees and towers, linked by wooden bridges. It is theorized by scholars that the area is the top of the Golden Castle sealed away by the Lunatic Magician.
Monsters known to inhabit this floor include: Big Bat, Giant Rat, Forest Goblin, Living Armor, Man-eating Plants (Baraselia, Betan, Meeroak) Basilisk, Mandrake
Floor 3: The entrance to the Golden Castle, now moldy and covered in dust. Footsteps can be heard, but it is unclear if they are those of fellow adventurers or the undead. Most monsters on this floor are undead, rotting or skeletal. There are water fountains in the shape of lion’s heads throughout the level. There are also toilets in the busier areas, which have been maintained by Senshi for many years. Senshi’s base camp is located here. There are also merchants on this level, but their clientele tend to be fairly shady.
Monsters known to inhabit this floor include: Ghouls, Skeletons, Wraiths, Golems, Treasure Insects, Ghosts, Living Paintings, Mimics
Floor 4: The floor is a cave made up of the castle and an underground lake. The water has absorbed magical energy and glows faintly. At the bottom of the lake is the castle town.
Monsters known to inhabit this floor include: Kelpies, Bladefish, Mermaids, Slimes, Mermen, Kraken, Giant Parasites(living in Kraken), Undine, Tentacles, Giant Frogs, Sea Serpents
Floor 5: The exit of the Golden Castle and the entrance to the castle town, which contain evidence of their former splendor. The streets often magically rearrange themselves, making navigation difficult. The orcs’ former home is located here. There is an overgrown graveyard attached to the town that is populated by Dryads.
Monsters known to inhabit this floor include: Wargs, Red Dragons, Dryads, Mandrakes, Cockatrice, Cleaners, Harpies
Floor 6: A network of underground waterways built using the mining tunnels of dwarves. It is stated that most monsters on this floor use mental attacks. This floor was once hot and humid, but is now cold and snowy.
Monsters known to inhabit this floor include: Shapeshifters, Nightmares, Ice Golems, Dire Wolves, Barometz, Spirits of the Golden Castle, Hippogriff, Changelings, Gargoyles, Griffin(Modified by Changelings from Hoppogriff)
Deepest part of the dungeon: An old dwarven defensive site, filled with pipes, machinery and mechanical contraptions located past a large door with no visible lock. The floor is fairly warm. Further onward is an ancient dwarven city, hewn from the side of a cliff face, with giant fungi sprouting in some areas. Monsters known to inhabit this floor include: Gargoyles, Changelings, Bicorns, Dullahan, Succubi
Lunatic Magician’s House: A two-story cottage located deep within the dungeon, presumed to be the residence of the Lunatic Magician. The cottage looks as if it has been unattended for hundreds of years. It contains a hall of broken mirrors, a dining room with walls covered in Living Paintings, a bedroom in disarray and a disorganized library. Seated in the dining room are the living yet soulless bodies of what seems to be the royal family of the Golden Castle, including Yaad.
Monsters known to inhabit this area and its surroundings are: Walking Mushrooms, Living Paintings, Phoenix, Dungeon Rabbits
Golden Castle Village: An agricultural village located somewhere in the dungeon. The immortal residents of the Golden Castle have been living here for at least 400 years. In this area, there is some kind of magical barrier in place that robs monsters of their aggression.
Monsters known to inhabit the area are: Spirits of the Golden Castle, Unicorns, Dire Wolves, Basilisks, Minotaurs, Dryads, Bladefish
Story
First arc:
After encountering a legendary Red Dragon in a dungeon the tall-man adventurer Laios and his party are almost killed until his sister Falin is swallowed by the dragon. Her last act is to teleport everyone safely out of the dungeon. Laios hopes to retrieve Falin so she can be resurrected, but this must happen before she is fully digested, or she will be dead permanently. Unfortunately two party members quit, leaving only elven mage Marcille, halfling locksmith Chilchuck, and no money. Since they need their equipment to survive and can’t sell it to buy food Laios makes the radical suggestion to hunt and eat dungeon monsters. After spending some time convincing Marcille they agree to try it. Their initial attempt to cook a Huge Scorpion is disgusting but does draw the attention of dwarf warrior Senshi, a veteran of monster cookery. With his assistance they produce a Huge Scorpion and Walking Mushroom Hotpot even the reluctant Marcille finds delicious. Learning they seek the Red Dragon Senshi joins their party, hoping he will get to eat the dragon. Moving deeper into the dungeon they camp for the night while Senshi makes supper; a tart made from the fruits of giant carnivorous Man-eating Plant monsters.
Second Floor Arc:
Senshi lectures the group on the typical poor diet of adventurers which is high in fat and low on vegetables. As Marcille is craving meat Senshi recommends either hunting a Basilisk (a half chicken/half snake monster) and its eggs. During the hunt another adventurer is poisoned, but Senshi shows them cooking then eating the basilisk acts as an antidote. Requiring vegetables Senshi harvests Screaming Mandrakes using a shortcut method. Marcille tries to demonstrate the proper method of harvesting Mandrakes, but messes up and is attacked by a bat monster. Laios helps her feel better by pointing out things she is good at. Senshi discovers harvesting mandrakes the right way makes them taste sweeter, so he credits Marcille for teaching him something new and cooks Mandrake and Basilisk Omelets. Moving to the next floor Chilchuck takes the lead as the area is full of booby traps. Unfortunately Senshi delights in setting off traps on purpose and repurposes a fire trap and a hot oil trap into an oil fryer to make Mandrake Kakiage & Giant Bat Tempura. During the process the two gain a better appreciation of each other as Chilchuck shows Senshi how to manipulate traps in exchange for basic cookery skills.
Laios’ sword is damaged and he recalls how he first found it. Three years previously he and Falin were novices and Laios was killed for the first time by a Living Armor monster but managed to keep the Armors sword once he was resurrected. By chance they are now in the same area where Armors congregate and end up surrounded by them. Marcille suspects Armors aren’t monsters themselves, but empty puppets magically controlled by another monster. Laios confronts a larger Armor guarding an egg and his damaged sword is destroyed. He realizes the Armors are actually the shells of dozens of small, mollusk like monsters that cooperate like muscles to make the Armor move, giving the illusion Armors are empty shells. Using the egg as bait Laios defeats the larger Armor then distracts the smaller Armors and they safely escape. Deciding to treat them like giant shellfish Senshi removes all the monsters from the large Armor and cooks them in several ways including soup, stir-fry, grilled and steam-baked. While edible, everyone agrees Armors are flavorless. Laios takes the large Armors much stronger sword as a replacement but makes the odd decision to hide from the others that one monster is still alive in the swords handle.
Third Floor Arc:
Senshi reveals the third floor is populated only by the undead and golems. Fortunately golems are made of earth perfect for growing vegetables, so he keeps three at his secret campsite. After enjoying a Golem Field Fresh Veggie Lunch, Marcille is disgusted that Senshi uses toilet waste as fertilizer. Senshi reveals the only thing stopping more dangerous monsters rising to the surface are the golems, but only his three remain alive. By keeping them healthy he keeps adventurers on upper floors safe. They take the extra vegetables to a merchant, but the shop is attacked by orcs who kill the employees and customers. It transpires Senshi intended to trade with the orcs all along as they are friends, unlike the shady merchant and his criminal customers. The orcs are struggling as the Red Dragon has been invading their territory. Senshi gives them the vegetables and also shows them how to make bread. Marcille and the orc chief Zon argue due to their species past conflicts that drove the orcs underground, but when Zon’s infant son interrupts they manage to share a meal of Freshly Stolen Vegetables and Chicken Stewed with Cabbage Accompanied by Plundered Bread. Laios shares their reason for hunting the dragon and his goal of conquering the dungeon; making him its legal owner and implying he would let the orcs keep living there in peace. Zon reveals the dragon was last seen only two floors down on floor five.
Fourth Floor Arc:
The group discover a disused dining hall where wall portraits turn out to be Living Painting monsters. Laios decides to see if being absorbed by the Living Painting makes the food pictures inside them edible. As he passes from painting to painting he witnesses scenes from the life of a Prince Delgal, from his birth to his wedding, during which the King is poisoned and Delgal inherits the throne. In each painting Laios encounters a mysterious elf who remembers him each time and tries to kill him, believing he is there to assassinate Delgal. Proving the food isn’t real they remain hungry and set up camp. Chilchuck spots a Mimic but says nothing as he despises Mimics for always disguising as treasure chests. However, at night with everyone asleep he accidentally lets a Treasure Insect lure him into the Mimic’s room and becomes trapped. Figuring out how to open the door he escapes the Mimic which is crushed when the door snaps closed on it. With everyone now awake Senshi boils the Mimic in saltwater, since without its disguise a Mimic is just a giant crab. Chilchuck eats it reluctantly as his experience has only made him hate them more. Chilchuck also admits, despite his childlike appearance he is almost 29, meaning Laios is actually the youngest party member.
Kabru and his party are resurrected by Corpse Retrievers who trick them into believing they were killed by Laios’ party to steal their jewellery. Unaware their jewellery was Treasure Bugs, they decide to get revenge on Laios’ party. On the fourth floor Laios’ party must cross a lake using magic, only Senshi is unaffected by magic due to years’ worth of monster blood in his unwashed beard and instead rides his pet, a Kelpie named Anne. Unfortunately Anne tries to drown him, revealing she has been trying to lure Senshi into the water for years but was foiled by his aversion to bathing. Betrayed, Senshi butchers Anne. Laios and Chilchuck find Kabru’s party dead again, drowned by Mermen. Chilchuck rejects Laios’ suggestion they eat mermen. Laios makes porridge from grain Kabru dropped, Mimic and lake weeds. Chilchuck is furious when Laios secretly adds Mermen eggs. Marcille makes soap from kelpie fat which Senshi uses to bathe for the first time in years, allowing them all to cross the lake with magic. While crossing they are attacked by a Kraken which, due to resembling an octopus, Senshi kills with a merman’s trident. As the kraken is too bitter to eat they instead eat the giant parasitic worms infecting it, grilled in sauce like an eel. Laios foolishly tries the worm raw and becomes infected with a smaller worm, leaving him with stomach ache.
While considering the effects of adventurers on the dungeon’s ecosystem, Marcille remembers her youth as an academy student when she dreamed of creating a balanced dungeon that would be safe for adventurers. By contrast, Falin was aimless and easily distracted yet achieved better results by sneaking out to experience a real dungeon. Marcille accompanied her on one trip and realized even dungeons that seemed chaotic were delicately balanced and designing one herself would be much more complex than she naively assumed. This gave her great respect for the sorcerer who created this dungeon as he supposedly did so despite being insane. Chilchuck decides they are only two days away from the dragon and plans their sleep schedule accordingly. Marcille misses other girls, causing her to angrily remember the party members who quit after Falin died. Marcille later accidentally provokes an Undine water spirit. She eventually escapes but runs out of magic to recover from her blood loss, delaying the party’s progress. To recover, Senshi feeds her ingredients high in iron, namely grilled kelpie liver, angering her when they eat all the other tastier meat without her getting to try any. Meanwhile, another party smell them cooking and become curious.
The party consists of gnome researchers Mr. and Mrs. Tansu, bodyguards Kaka and Kiki, and female dwarf Namari. Marcille is unhappy as Namari is one of their party members who quit. The Tansu’s arrogantly assume the Undine won’t attack them, resulting in Namari’s death. After resurrecting her Mr. Tansu’s further impatience gets Kiki attacked by a Tentacles monster, requiring Laios, Senshi and Namari to save her. Senshi discovers tentacle pairs well with vinegar. As it will take a week for the Undine to calm down the Tansu’s decide to return to the surface. Laios tries to send Marcille with them as she is out of magic. Marcille refuses and tries to recruit Namari, but Namari is forced to refuse for financial reasons. To recover her magic Marcille decides she must eat the Undine. Sensh offers his cooking pot and lid as two shields, which Namari realises are forged from Adamant, a metal stronger than dragon bone. Namari and Senshi trap the Undine in the pot and kill it by boiling it, after which Marcille turns it into a Kelpie and Tentacles stew which even the Tansu’s enjoy. Before departing Laios asks Namari about the other former member Shuro. Namari hasn’t seen him but as he is in love with Falin she is sure he is also trying to rescue her. Laios is shocked as he had no idea Shuro loved Falin, despite it being obvious to everyone else.
While trying to get to the fifth floor a Giant Frog attacks Laios’ Party on a staircase infested with Tentacles. Chilchuck discovers frog-skin is immune to tentacle venom, allowing him to rip out a tentacle blocking a crossbow trap, killing the frog. To bypass the tentacles Laios makes frog-skin suits while Senshi makes pasta from tentacles and frog meat. Reaching the labyrinth-like Castle City on the fifth floor they find the Orcs’ abandoned stronghold. Laios is confused why the dragon is still moving from place to place when normally it should be in a deep sleep by now. Mr. Tansu reports to the Lord of the Island who has recently received a demand from the Elves of the West to return lands that once belonged to them, which includes the dungeon. Mr. Tansu suspects the elves want the dungeons unique spell of immortality that makes adventurers unkillable within its walls as long as someone recites the resurrection spell. As the spell is likely to be held by the Lunatic Magician, the Lord decides to delay the elves and support the adventurers until they defeat the sorcerer. Finding evidence of the Red Dragon Laios starts to realize how difficult killing it will be due to the absence of Falin, Namari and Shuro. The decision is instead made to lure the dragon into a narrow street then collapse a building to trap it. Senshi makes frog-meat cutlets. The dragon finally appears so everyone prepares to fight.
Mr and Mrs Tansu resurrect Kabru and his party. Without food they return to the surface but encounter magical fog that causes them to see each other as enemies. Kabru is the first to realize this and is forced to stop their sorceress, Rin, from killing them by surprising her with a kiss. The culprits are revealed to be the labyrinth’s corpse-retrievers running a scam; by convincing Kabru Laios robbed them it increased their likelihood of following Laios and dying so the retrievers could make profit off their resurrections. Kabru kills the retrievers. He becomes unexpectedly depressed as it is similar scams causing less adventurers to bother entering the dungeon, decreasing the likelihood anyone will ever conquer it. Kabru gathers all the details he knows of the thieves and deduces they must be Laios, Marcille and Chilchuck with an unknown dwarf trying to save the absent Falin. He also deduces Laios wants to conquer the dungeon, but doubts Laios could handle owning a dungeon and its resources without harming society on the surface. The group are attacked by a sea serpent but are saved by Shuro and his new party of women from his homeland in the East. Kabru volunteers his help to Shuro in finding Falin, whom Shuro is deeply in love with. Meanwhile, despite two days having passed since killing the dragon, Laios and his friends remain trapped in the underground city where all the exits have mysteriously vanished, and are in danger of starving to death.
Red Dragon Arc:

Chilchuck discovers frog-skin is immune to tentacle venom, allowing him to rip out a tentacle blocking a crossbow trap, killing the frog. To bypass the tentacles Laios makes frog-skin suits while Senshi makes pasta from tentacles and frog meat. The decision is instead made to lure the dragon into a narrow street then collapse a building to trap it. Senshi makes frog-meat cutlets. The dragon finally appears so everyone prepares to fight.
The plan goes awry when Laios drops the cooking pot shield thanks to the dragon’s flame breath, forcing the party to lead it to a trap Marcille has set up. When this fails, Kensuke panics and jumps out of reach, leaving Laios weaponless while Senshi’s axe shatters on the dragon’s scales. Luckily, Senshi’s chef knife is made of mithril, which Chilchuck ultimately uses to blind the dragon’s left eye. With the dragon distracted, Chilchuck and Senshi grabs Kensuke and throw it to Laios before they are buried under rubble. With Marcille’s magic, Laios manages to kill the dragon. However, he loses his leg in the process. While on the ground, Laios remembers how he first discovered Falin was able to communicate with ghosts after she rescued him. He abruptly awakens after Falin confusingly tells him goodbye and not to worry about her. After Marcille heals everyone, Chilchuck demands Laios eventually explain about his sword. The party then slowly carves the dragon up to reach the organs. Unfortunately, they discover the dragon staying awake for longer than normal sped up the digestion process and all they find of Falin is her magic staff and skull.
Due to the complex rules of resurrection they are unable to take the bones to the surface or fetch a necromancer. From desperation Marcille decides to perform the spell herself using dragon meat to regrow Falin’s missing parts. This also reveals her strongest magic is Ancient Black Magic, which she rarely uses as it is considered evil. Reassembling Falin’s skeleton Marcille performs the spell and Falin is resurrected. After getting over her confusion Falin and Marcille bathe while Laios worries about how to safely return to the surface again. Chilchuck is conflicted over knowing Marcille can use illegal magic. Senshi prepares to cook the dragon, unaware the fuel that creates its fire breath has leaked, causing a giant explosion. Everyone survives thanks to Falin who somehow used magic without a spell or her staff. With the dragon now on fire Senshi makes dragon soup, pizzas and steaks. Falin easily accepts eating monsters, thrilling Laios who also finally reveals the truth about Kensuke. As no one can decide what to do with it Laios continues to keep it for now. As they sleep that night another elf finds the dragon corpse and the remains of Marcille’s forbidden ancient magic spell.
Falin sleepwalks back to the dragon corpse where the elf is angry she failed to locate Lord Delgal. Laios recognizes the elf as the one from the Living Picture Monsters, now revealed as the insane sorcerer who built the dungeon. The elf uses similar ancient magic as Marcille and forces everyone to fall into a cellar below ground. As her body is made of dragon flesh the elf is able to transform Falin into a new form to locate Delgal. The group are captured by another tribe of orcs led by Chief Zon’s sister. She reveals the elf is the dungeon master who can control it using the Grimoire he carries. As Marcille and Laios are unconscious Chilchuck suggests lying to them so they agree to return to the surface instead of saving Falin. Zon’s sister is disgusted but agrees to take him to retrieve his belongings so he can leave alone. Chilchuck notices the dragon corpse has now disappeared entirely. Zon’s sister coaxes him to recount the story of how they killed the dragon. The story causes Chilchuck to realize he isn’t afraid for his own life, he is afraid of having to watch his friends die. After retrieving everyone’s belongings he tries to convince Laios to return to the surface, tell the local Lord what happened, and return with more adventurers to stop the elf together. When Senshi agrees this is the best way to rescue Falin Laios reluctantly agrees to return to the surface.

Marcille realizes the sorcerer is altering the dungeon’s layout to keep them trapped. Noticing everyone is hungry, Senshi feels ashamed over not feeding them enough and decides to hunt the very next monster they encounter. Unfortunately, he, Laios, and Chilchuck encounter dryads whose pollen causes severe hay fever. Using voice commands, Chilchuck acts as Senshi’s eyes allowing him to kill the dryads. Meanwhile, Marcille is unable to fight with her staff broken but requires magic and time to regrow it. Senshi makes dryad and mandrake soup and sautéed dryad fruits. To increase their chances of survival, Marcille begins teaching Laios healing magic. Feeling oddly fatherly toward Chilchuck, Senshi bizarrely chooses to give him “the talk”. Laios performs his first healing spell but becomes affected by mana sickness, a common ailment for first timers, so the others leave him to rest. They are attacked by a cockatrice. Even though they killed it, Marcille is turned to stone in a very unbalanced position that makes her fragile and easy to break. Using a combination of Laios new healing magic and medicinal herbs, they cure her but it takes four days, making her feel guilty so much time was wasted.
Chilchuck notices a pattern to how the dungeon keeps changing and manages to lead them back to where they killed the dragon. Laios sees an undead that warns him of the Magician’s Eye. Marcille spots Cleaners, miniscule magical animals that repair damage to the dungeon while eating rubble, rubbish and dead monsters, explaining how the dragon corpse disappeared so quickly. Chilchuck locates the exit to floor 4, so Senshi cooks a chicken and egg dish using Cockatrice, Dryad, Mandrake and leftover healing herbs inside an edible stone dish made of crushed Cleaners. Abruptly, they encounter Shuro and his party and Kabru, who quickly determines Laios might not be the thief he thought he was, and decides to be friendly until they discover what Laios plans to do next. Shuro collapses from exhaustion, having pushed himself to the edge to reach floor 5 so quickly, so all the parties get together to cook a larger meal. Laios tells Shuro and Kabru Falin might have been taken to an even deeper floor by the sorcerer. Senshi notices Shuro’s attendant Maizuru is in love with him and jealous of Falin. Everyone discovers Shuro attempting to murder Laios for using black magic to revive Falin, since if it is ever revealed to the authorities they will all be executed, including Falin. Meanwhile, the mutated Falin watches them from a distance, mindlessly searching for Delgal.
Kabru helps Shuro realise Laios’ only other option was to let Falin stay dead. Whilst being attacked by harpies Falin, now a human/harpy/dragon chimera, suddenly attacks as well and begins killing Shuro’s followers. Laios hesitates to attack her, resulting in Kabru’s death. Falin flees and Shuro’s spell casters manage to resurrect everybody. Shuro blames Marcille and insists that after they kill Falin to free her soul Marcille will be handed to the Western Elven Kingdom for punishment. Laios insists they defeat the sorcerer to save Falin instead and starts a fistfight with Shuro that quickly becomes a childish squabble wherein they admit everything they hate about each other. Having cleared the air Shuro decides to treat Falin as though she died, return to his own country and never come back. Laios still plans to defeat the sorcerer and Kabru starts to believe, with his level of monster knowledge and ingenuity, Laios might somehow manage it. Though this only increases his worries over Laios becoming the next dungeon master. After a meal of harpy egg omelet Shuro’s party and Kabru teleport to the surface, but Shuro also gives Laios a magic tool to contact him with, promising if Laios becomes a fugitive for using black magic he will help him escape to his country. Alone again, Laios and his friends follow after Falin.
Laios’ Party: Laios Touden, Marcille Donato, Chilchuck Tims, Senshi
Laios’ Party (Former): Falin Touden, Shuro, Namari
Falin
Falin is a Tall women with fair skin, amber eyes, and uneven, neck-length, dirty blonde hair. She is shorter than Laios and Shuro, but taller than Marcille. In her normal dungeon attire, she wears a white, long-sleeved shirt and white pants, underneath a dark blue robe. She also wears brown, knee-high boots and a beret.
Falin is a very kind person who doesn’t want to hurt others. She extends this kindness even to the restless dead, casting wards on her party to avoid encounters instead of dispelling the ghosts altogether. She explains dispelled ghosts reform eventually, so they would only go through needless suffering. She is caring, considerate, self-sacrificing, and reckless, among other qualities she possesses. If the lives of her loved ones are in danger, she would not hesitate to act or take the blow in their stead. This is seen from her first appearance where she sacrifices herself for her party, but she also consistently exhibits this trait in multiple flashbacks throughout the story. She, like her brother, has a fanatic interest in biology from a young age.[6] When Laios recounts the kind of monsters they ate during their journey, she was amazed instead of repulsed. This was not a secret to the party either; Marcille anticipated Falin’s excited reaction to eating monsters and Shuro fell in love with her because she was fascinated with insects.
Falin is a magic user who appears to specialize in gnome-system magic. Her field of expertise is that of reinforcement, recovery and exorcism. She appeared to know in coordination magic, although she stated that she still hadn’t gotten the certification for the teleportation magic. She teleported the whole party to the surface when they were defeated by a red dragon.
Falin(Chimera)
Falin Touden was transformed into this Chimera by the Lunatic Magician (known as “Mad Mage” in anime), Thistle.
Anatomy and Appearance: The Falin Chimera stands at 11 meters, with the upper body of Falin, and the lower body of a red dragon with white-feathered wings. Laios Touden believes her heart and lungs to be in the lower body of the Chimera, the red dragon part. He also deduces that the Falin Chimera has only one mouth, despite her large body, and, additionally, that she must have a large respiratory tract.
Behavior and Weaknesses: The Falin Chimera has the strength of a dragon, the ability to chant spells, and the intelligence to speak briefly and follow the orders of the Lunatic Magician. If immobilized, she is still able to use magic. If she is in a area with less mana, she struggles to move, similar to a person deprived of air.
When the upper body of the Falin Chimera was struck in the vital areas of a human, she did not die. When figuring out how to kill the Falin Chimera in one blow, Laios concludes the best way is through suffocation. The Falin Chimera has shown affection towards the Lunatic Magician: smiling while embracing him, healing his self-inflicted head injury, and attempting to share berries with him.
