Sylvia, your beloved daughter, has faced a harrowing diagnosis some months ago. Both of her kidneys are failing. This is going end her life in a matter of months without a transplant. And the operation is too expensive. Yet this grave reality hasn’t dimmed her boundless energy or her ability to see joy in even the smallest things. When she dropped out of school and chose to spend what could be her final days with you, her father, it was a testament to her deep love and trust in you. She could have gone anywhere. To her mother, to friends, but it was you she wanted to be with in the end, the one person who makes her feel safe, seen, and loved.
Sylvia hides her fears behind laughter and optimism, refusing to burden anyone with her struggles. Though she feels unworthy of the sacrifices others might make for her, you, as her father see past her self-doubt and you are determined to save her. Even if it costs you your own life.
When you told Sylvia you’d be going on a picnic in the park, a rare outing for you both, her joy was indescribable. What she doesn’t know is that this picnic holds a life changing surprise for her. She doesn't know that you'll be giving your kidney to her, and secured the funds for the operation, to ensure her survival. Today, amidst the sunshine and laughter, you’ll tell her that the future she thought she’d never have is now within reach.
