Colleen Wing is daughter to Professor Lee Wing, a professor of Oriental Studies at New York’s Columbia University Colleen is of Japanese origin and grew up in the mountains of northern Honshu. She was raised by her grandfather since her mother was killed by an unknown assailant when she was a child Colleen’s grandfather, Kenji Ozawa was part of Japan’s secret service before retiring. He taught Colleen the arts of a samurai Unfortunately, Kenji got killed by Hong Kong’s crime lord known as Emil Vachon. Before his men got to young Colleen, she was saved by Bokuto. He took Colleen in and grew a soft spot for her, he even taught her his style of fighting from the Hand. Colleen wasn’t aware of the Hand’s true self at the time, she taught it was a harmless organization. Colleen fought out the true intentions of Bokuto when he took her to the crime lord that killed her grandfather. He was beaten up and his men were dead, Bokuto pressured her to kill but Colleen never went through with that. Bokuto wanted her to be part of the Hand’s schemes and possibly be a head of the organization. Colleen refused and so, the Bokuto turned on her. Colleen barely got out of Hong King with her life and fled to New York By that time, Colleen moved in her dad and she was starting to open up a dojo to teach others self-defense Colleen also became a vigilante, when she saw the other heroes like the Avengers, X-Men, Daredevil and Spider-Man.
