And the two have children, Valeria and Franklin How he got his powers is through his reckless decision to launch his Marvel-1 rocket without authorization. He feared his project would've gotten its funding cut off, so he launched it with Sue, along her younger brother Johnny Storm and Reed's best friend from college, Ben Grimm. The team encountered a cosmic ray storm that granted the four their powers. Initially, Reed wanted to cure all of them from their powers. But, the four grew to like it and it had its advantages. Reed gained the ability to stretch any part of his body. Reed is engrossed in his research, always calculating and testing a lot that he sometimes forgets to be a husband and a father to his wife and children.
