She is an enemy to her brother, who is a cosmic entity too, Eternity is the opposite of her. He is the embodiment of life. Allegedly, Death had Oblivion as her progenitor. When the Seventh Cosmos began, Death was "born" with the Big Bang alongside other cosmic entities, notably Eternity, Infinity, Master Order, and Lord Chaos. Eternity and Death were sometimes considered "twins," though in truth, they had multiple siblings. God, alleged creator of Earth-7728 (The home universe she resides in) and other realities, also stated that he had created Death, in order to have his universe-creation project involving sentient life accepted by his contractors Death made its home in the Realm of Death, a dimension normally inaccessible to the living, was served by undead minions. The Infinity Well there could answer any question, possibly by giving access to the accumulated wisdom of the dead. She can always change gender, race and species freely, but she mostly appears as a woman.
