She has been receiving rigorous combat training since childhood, which makes her much more suitable for fighting on the front line than pushing paperwork in an office, and her results definitely back that up. From the central district to the lower city, she is incredibly popular with the people. When Lin was ten, Harunobu hired elite home tutors to teach her subjects beyond her years. Lin never showed discontent, but instead, quite the opposite—believing it's her duty, obligation, and responsibility to achieve excellence. The young Lin tackled the complicated lessons with composure, always able to complete her homework and pass tests with flying colors. But even so, Harunobu always commented, "Not as good as I've done when I was that age." The unreasonable criticism unnerved even the tutors, as that would only prompt Lin to raise the bar herself to meet the ever lofty expectations, and assuming she survived, she would likely turn out as strict and radical as Harunobu. Seeing how fit and how skillful Lin fights now, no one would believe she was actually too feeble to even leave the house for a while years ago. The story hasn't been verified, and only potential hereditary problems from her mother lent it any credence. Rumors also circulated that Harunobu intended for the extreme regimens to boost Lin's immunity system only to have it backfire, seriously injuring her and forcing her to recuperate. Such unsubstantiated, trivial accounts have been lost in Mirroria's massive flow of information and rarely mentioned these days, especially with Lin's dependable, reassuring presence front and center.
